Swindle by Gordon Korman

  1. I saw this book a few year ago. My friend read it but I didn't. I asked her if liked the book. She told me it was a fine book. I decided to read it. But some other book got in my way so I still didn't read it.
Now our teachers told us to read the young readers choice awards in 2011. The first book I saw in the list is savvy. But the second one was totally Swindle. I was like "Isn't that the book that I was going to read but never did"? This time I was sure that I had to read it. Three reasons why. One is because Gordon Korman is the writer of my favorite book Schooled. Second reason is because I tried to read a few times. I knew that I was made to read it. Third reason is because there were lots of copies of this book in the library.
I loved the first part when there was a spooky part. (That part actually scared me) I love how the book said adults don't listen to children.
I would give this book a 4 out of 5 for not having a perfect happy ending.

  2. Swindle is a very well thought out, enjoyable book. When I picked up "Swindle", I couldn't put it back down. I enjoyed this book very much because of all the non-stop action throughout it. This is the type of book that will be picked right off the shelf, but once you start it, it will be quite hard to stop reading. I read it again after I was done. It was so good that I would like to have it for myself. I liked how the kids worked as a team when adults don’t want to listen to them. Overall; Swindle is an awesome book for anyone. I would rate this book 10/10.

  3. Swindle is about Griffin Bing, the Man with a Plan. He always sticks with the plan, and is very
outspoken. When Griffin finds a million dollar card and is cheated out of it, he is determined to get it
    back by any means.

Swindle was a great book, but it is a bit unrealistic how quickly he was cheated out of the card
and can lie to his teacher and others that come close to finding out about the plan. That skill comes only
from practise, and I think that a experienced lier would be able to see through lies more easily. The
preface, the mysterious note, crated some suspense, to keep you turning from page to page. There are
many characters in Griffins team, and they are all different types of people. Melisa never says much
and is really withdrawn, while Logan never shuts up. The characters seem a bit shallow, since they
don't do anything other than you might think they would. If I said what, it would ruin the story. But,
that shallowness makes it easy to imagine the thoughts of all the characters. I would recommend this to
those who have a little imagination and enjoy interactions between people. Those who search for action
may be disappointed. I would give this a 9, but I don't like the message about stealing, so 8.6 instead.

  4. “Swindle” is an extremely creative book that I’ll rate 9 out of 10 because I love books and movies that involve bad guys who underestimate kids but gets outsmarted by them in the end. I enjoy reading this book especially at the part when the plan to retrieve a valuable card that is stolen is in action. Although the ending is a little disappointing, I will still recommend this book to anyone who loves books full of problems and obstacles but are solved and overcame later on.
