This book is about Jain changing to another school after she moved to an unfamiliar place after someone set a bomb in Metro City, where she lives, at her. She was very depressed at first but then she found a group and their names were Jane, Jayne, and Polly Jane. They ignored her at first but then Jane started a group called the P.L.A.I.N.(People Loving Arts In Neibourhoods) Janes. This book is really mature and deep. It was okay and I give it a 3.3 out of five. I didn't like it thay much because the whole story and the main character's thought turned out to be negative, even the ending. The only not negative thing was when they were doing art attacks on the streets and they were having fun. I would like it more if it was positive because I am positive and I hope everybody else was positive because you'll probably turn out to be more happy that way. This is just my opinion but in general, it is a good book. 30 Louise
The Plain Janes is definately the best graphic novel I've read all my life. Although it was mature and deep, I loved it. I don't mind romance, in fact, I WRITE it. And as for the P.L.A.I.N Janes group... it made a lot of sense. Not a lot of people appreciate art. This book is about a girl named Jane, who moves into a new city. She transfers to a new school, where she is a loner. She was a loner until she met a group of 3 other loner people, all Janes. There was Jayne, Jane and Polly-Jane. At first they are cold to Jane but soon warm up to her. It was a bit mature for me, and because of that, I give it a 3.8 out of 5. I could connect with Jane, since I was shunned last year until I came to Maple Grove, where I met a lot of really nice people, not including Rachel, who I already knew. It's not as though I'll ever do any of these "art attacks" with a group of people, but I would like to. But I won't, if it gets me in trouble. In general, it was mature, deep, but very moving and it was a good book. I enjoyed it greatly.
The Plain Janes was an okay book. There was girl named Jane who lived in Metro City. The city had bomb explosion so they had to move to Kent Waters. They said its much safer there and they had to live there for three months. She was transfered to a school named Buzz Aldrin High. She met three girls named Jane but different spelling. They made a club named P.L.A.I.N. that means People Loving Art In Neighbourhoods. She also met a guy named Damon. They make out after finding John. So then at school one day Damon said '' remember the night we made out with each other'' she said '' yeah ''. He said '' Well it kind of felt like I was making out with a friend''. I will give it a 3.5 out of 5 because it was kind of weird making out with each other.
The plain Janes was okay. It say a gril named Jane who lived in Metro city but in the city had bomb explosion so she had to move to Kent Waters. She Transfer to anthor school for three mounths, when lunch time she mitt three grils named Jane but diffrent spell. They make a team named P.L.A.N. that means people love art. When the news peaper show they find artist of P.L.A.N.; Jane father and mother say they guess the aritst was Jane before I give this book4 out of 5 because it kind of wierd.
The Plain Janes is a pretty good book. This book is about a gril called Jane left Metro City because of a huge bomb explosion. At lunchtime in school, she met 3 other girls called Jane ina different way and they like art. Also, they form a group called the P.L.A.I.N. stands for People Likes Art In Neighborhood. They are thegroups who wants to make a artful city. I will give this book a 4.5 out of 5 because I really like reading grapic novels and this book its my first graphic novel about girls.
I do not know why, I just really don't, but I seem to don't like The Plain Janes more and more as days go by. I used to give it a 3.3 out of 5 but now it's just a 1.5 out of 5. Guess it's all the unfortunate things taking over my mind step by step now. 30 *Louise*
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! this was a amazing book. I could not stop reading it, i finished it in 2 days! This book is about a girl named Jane, who lived in metro city. One day a bomb sets off right next to her while she was in metro city, so here parent's thought it is to dangerous to live here, so they move to a small town called, Kent Waters. While Jane is at her new school called, Buzz Aldrin High, she finds a group of girls and there names are, Jane, Jayne, Jane and Polly Jane. These four girls start a group called, P.L.A.I.N ( People Loving Art IN Neighborhoods). This book i have to say is the best graphic novel i have EVER read!!!!! i would give this book a 4.5/5 because there are some parts where they carry on to a subject for a few seconds and when you are really starting to get into it they change it on you and you kinda think what just happend? But overall it was a excellent book.
This book is awesome! At first I dont know what it is talking about but when I kept reading I understand everything. First Jane moves to a new place where she thought was awful because she have to be away from John. Then she started a secret club called "Plain" and they make art all over town. Also, this book was so easy to read!! I read it for 2 hrs and Im done. I really recommend this book to people who doesnt like reading or loves reading short novels. -Angela 16 XD
This book was amazing! I thought the author and illustrator clearly stated what Main Jane was thinking as well as bringing the message of the book through to you. The story was about a girl named Jane(Main Jane)who just moved from Metro City to Kent Waters because her parents didnt think it was safe for her with all the bombing going on. She finds out that even if a lot of people like her, she still felt lonley because there was noone who relates to her and she had to be away from her friend John, who was in the hospital. Later on she teams up with other people with no friends ;Jane(Theater Jane), Jayne(Brain Jane) and Polly Jane(Sporty Jane). They make a secret club called the P.L.A.I.N Janes which stands for people loving art in neighborhoods. In the beginning i did not quite understand what was going on with Jane but as Angela had said, you find out when you read further. This book was sort of a fast read for me. I had read it 3 times in an hour mostly because there were some parts that i didnt get. Overall, I would give P.L.A.I.N Janes a 4.5 out of 5
This book is great! It is about a girl called Jane, who moves to a new city and to a new school called Buzz Aldrin High. There, she meets three friends that have names that are really similar to hers; all called Jane. The main Jane, who always misses her old city a lot and really wants to go back, finds something special to her later on that changes her. Also, with the other three Janes that were cold to her soon starts to act another way to Main Jane. Then forms an art group together and cooperating well. The part I like and found it unique of this book was that with four girls, that have different talents, different personalities could work so well and enjoying being in a group. I also like how things changed from kind of negative to adding some positive feelings. I give this book a 4.5/5 because I felt that there were some things I thought that needed to be added at the end.
This is a graphic novel so I was able to read it quickly. Those kids are bad examples... VANDALISM! why? does the author want kids to do vandalism ? bad. I absolutely hate the ending.. poor guy. I think the author was trying to talk about CREATIVITY! It was very creative of them to display art publicly in weird ways. I liked it at first because I thought it was very brave and cool. I couldn't understand why the police were trying to stop them. Then, they went overboard. I don't remember exactly what they did but I remember that I didn't like very much. They started to do things that were for "bad" kids. At the beginning, I didn't understand about the John Doe guy. I didn't really like the book. In fact, I didn't really like any of the YRCA books. Not that they are bad books, they are just not my style. Who said that I have to like the same books as everyone else? I give it 2 stars! (Hey, at least I'm being honest)Cons: 1. bad ending 2. unclear message 3. confusing beginning 4. John Doe thing(why and who is he?) Pro: it was really cool that the story was told by her writing to John Doe (if that's his name)
This book was short but I still loved it!!! This book was not boring, it was fun all the time!!! A girl named Jane had to move from metro city because it turned out to be dangerous there. She didn't want to move to a new school but she had no choice. In her new school she met friends named Jane, Jayne, and Polly Jane. First they didn't want to make friends with Jane but later they became good friends. They made a art group called P.L.A.N.E Janes. They did art things around the neighborhoods. They were really creative. They did things illegal but the art was still nice. I didn't love this book a lot. I give this book a 3.5 out of a 5 because the girls did a lot of illegal things and they weren't having a lot of fun. I also didn't get the ending it was a bit confusing but I still enjoyed a lot of parts!!!
This was the first graphic novel I've ever read and I really liked it. I thought the story line was really interesting because the main character Jane and her friends were committing these illegal art attacks but for the appreciation of art and for everyone in the neighborhood (this story line reminds me of Robin Hood). Also, I really like how parts of the letters that Jane was writing to Miroslaw was shown on the pages because it really showed Jane's perspective and thoughts. What I didn't like about the book was the ending because I felt that it ended without much detail and the consequence after the climax of the story was really little. This leads to the fact that I actually finished this book within 2 hours because I wish the book would've continued longer with more detail. In my opinion, I'd rate this book 3.5 stars because I really enjoyed reading it in the short time I did but I really didn't like the how it ended.

The Plain Janes was a good novel not so good but, good. The Part that wasn't that good was when they did illegal things which made the police mad at it and the people who were doing it like doing huge art projects in neighborhoods without their permission. At the end they didnt get caught.Damon did when he dropped the ball off the clock tower. Then it was the end.. I would like to read the sequel too so, I can check what happens next.I give this book 3.2/5 well because it did need some details and they could of stopped doing illegal stuff in the neighborhood but, still they had some creative ideas also the story line was pretty good.
