Schooled was an awesome book! It was about a boy's grandmother (Rain) who fell down the peach tree while she was picking a peaches from the tree. Capricorn(Cap) Anderson (Rain's grandson) drove her to the hospital. When he was driving to the hospital the police came. Cap had to come out of the vehicle and talk to the officer. Cap told him what happened to his grandmother. The officer said '' why didn't you called 911''. Cap didn't know what was 911 because he was homeschooled. They drove Cap and Rain to the hospital and see what happened to Rain. Rain broke her hip so it needed time to recover. Cap had to go to a person's home to sleep for 3 months until his grandmother's hip recovered. He went to a school and made new friends. Everyone in the grade 8 voted for him as president. In the end his grandmother sold the place that he used to live and moved close to school.
I know! This book is completely unforgetable. Since the day I stated reading this book I couldn't stop telling my mom this book is awesome and nor could I put this book down. It is the opposite of what you think. In most stories the most popular student is the student president, but in this book a homeschooled wierdo Cap(Capricorn?!)Anderson who had never seen a television before became the the Grade 8 student president. Also, when that had already surprised us, a greater surprised was given to us---Cap was actually an fabulous president, everyone in the school loved him, even the students that were against him in the beginning of the the book. I actually wished that Cap was our Grade 7 president. He was so cool! He knew Tai Chi, tie-dying, and was so nice! Even though it is kind of wierd to give all the school cheques to charities, it is still just love and pitiness that Cap has for people not as lucky as us. I absolutely hate it to admit that Cap is just a fictional character. I liked the way the author had written the story as well. He wrote each chapter like a diary entries from each different main characters in the story. This not only helps us know what each person was thinking and as well see the story from different point of views, it also brings readers deeper in to the story too. At the end when Cap's only family member, his grandmother, got out of the hospital to get him and go back to Garland together, I felt so bad as if I was feeling what the students at C average(Claverage) School felt. Luckily she let him go back to the school at the very end. However, this book is full of interesting and outrageous things happening, and it is a book everyone should read. I think the main idea of the book is to respect everyone because you never know if they are good at somthing and nice or a great student president. I give this book a 5 out of 5. I would give it a 10 out out 5 if possible. 30 Louise
Capricorn Anderson grew up with his hippie grandma in Garland(a hippie haven)so he was destined to be an ultra-hippie. But when Rain (grandma) breaks her hip picking peaches, he is thrust into the real world. A post-hippie guidance conselor,Mrs.Donnelly, lets him stay at her house while Rain recovers. However, her teenage daughter,Sophie, totally hates Cap and hurls insults at him whenever they meet. Cap goes to school for ther first time in his life. Some jerks nominate Cap for eighth grade president to mock him.The poor guy doesn't understand what's going on so he keeps getting tricked by the other students. After he wins the election, kids noticed him and began to admire his hippieness. The coolest part about this book is that the story is told from different perspectives instead of the same character over and over again.
I think that "Schooled" deserves 4 stars. It was a great book butit wasn't the greatest book I ever read. But I thought the story plot was rather interesting, where did Mr.Korman get such an awesomeidea? A home-schooled hippie joining public school in his middle school years. Wow!
I enjoyed this book very much. In fact, it was the first book I read this year! I think it was very moving and wonderful, because it's about a boy (Capricorn Anderson) who has absoulutely no idea how to do anything in school, because he grew up in a hippie community. He soon becomes the 8th grade president, so that the popular kids could "torture" and make fun of him. But soon, the other 8th graders realize that Cap's very interesting, since he's different and they begin to learn more about him and why he was so weird when they first met him.
Schooled is by far the best book I've read all year, and I have read A LOT of books this year. It really deserves a 5 out of 5!
I actually really loved this book! It had various events that were outrageous yet believable. It's basically about a teenager named Capricorn who was raised by a hippie called Rain. He was suddenly sent to a public school when Rain got injured pretty badly after falling out of a peach tree. Cap knew nothing what so ever about school so he was a easy target for the popular kids of the school. They taunted him behind his back and voted for him as president as a joke. What I really liked about the book is how it had different characters talking to the readers in different chapters. I also really like the main character Cap. He's very sensitive and nice to everyone not even knowing they make fun of him. Surprisingly I didn't find any faults in this book so I'm going to give this book 5 stars!!!
I really love to read this book! It say a teenager named (Capricorn Anderson) he has no idead about school because he grow up in hippi community, so he have to learn. some part was very funny like The officer said '' why didn't you called 911''. Cap didn't know what was 911 because he was homeschooled and the first part the guy driving withthout no lesson
But some part I don't like, like they are fighting.
this book was amazing!!!! I just loved this book and i just could not put the book down!!! This book is about a 13 year old boy named Capricorn Anderson who lived at Garland farm with his hippie grandmother, (Rain). While Rain was out in the garden picking plums and she falls from the plum tree and seriously hurts her hip. Capricorn and his grandmother ( Rain) have to step into the real world now and when Rain is in rehab for 8 weeks, Capricorn will have to live will a normal family and go to a high school!!!! what i really liked about the book was when we would start a new chapter a new character would be talking, so i thought that was very cool. i would give this book 5 out of 5 because, it is just so amazingly AWESOME!!!
I guess this book is decently thought it by Korman, though I rarely read childrens books, I can appreciate the sheer originality which is becoming quite rare in the book community today. However, this book was fast moving and did not seem to have very much "filler", material that is just used as "spam" to help make the novel larger and make it appear to have more substance. I rate this book 4.1 out of 5 for it's outstanding originality.
-p.s. for every animal you don't eat, I'll eat three.
This book was amazing!!!!! I really liked it because it was really realistic and very interesting. I don't really read this kind of books but this one was good. what I didn't like about it because some parts were really boring. Sometimes the book spends too much time in explanations.I give this book a 3/5.
I think this book is amazing! The best thing I liked about this book is that it is really humorous. I think this author is really creative and peaceful. Something that makes me think while I am reading this book is that our school can change too! We could change bullies into wonderful students!! I hope that our school can be like the C Average where Capricorn Anderson goes to. Capricorn Anderson is a really generous guy. He learned a lot of things from Rain, his grandmother. She had to stay in the hospital for a while because she fell down the tree. That is how Capricorn Anderson changes the whole school. When he first came he had some troubles because there were a lot of bullies but later he changed them into wonderul students just like him. He became the Grade 8 President in the school. He didn't know what to do but he did great at the end. He had a lot of jobs then he thought. He had to set up the Halloween dance party but he gets to misses it because he had to go back to Garland. The students learned a lot of lessons from Capricorn Anderson. If I was one of them I would be really thankful of what he did. Unfortunately he had to go back to Garland when Rain felt better. Rain owned Garland but she sold it and they decided to move back to the place where he went to school. He had a happy life with Rain and his friends at C Average. I loved this book!! I would give this book a 5 out of 5!!!
I love this book! It's so amazing!! Cap Anderson changed so much from the beginning to end! First, he was living in Garland, he never watched TV or used a computer before. Just when his grandma fell down from the tree, Cap has to move to somewhere else to live. He watched TV and he loved it. When his grandma, Rain, got better, he left and went back to Garland. He missed everyone in C Average and everyone felt the same way. This book is really awesome!! :] I would give this book a 5 out of 5 and also, I recommend this book to everyone who is looking for a good book to read or just read for fun! -Angela 16
This book just flows through, it really connects!! I don't even know what page I'm reading! It feels like I'm not reading it, its like a movie in my mind! :] -Angela16
I think this book is wonderful! It is about a boy called Cap Anderson (Cap) who knows nothing because he was home schooled. But, after his hippie grandmother called Rain hurt her hip, Cap was delivered to a school called C Average. There, he learned the basic things he never knew before, knowing how to use a computer or learn other people’s names for instance. I think this author used a really good method by kind of showing the characters thoughts and changing them to like their diaries, it really makes a clearer understanding of what the book is talking about and how the characters feel. Then, it would be easier to predict and make you get really excited to find out how it would happen. I give this book a 5 out of 5 because I liked how a boy who knows not even the basics can influence people who are a bully. Also, the ending of this book was totally what I wanted it to have. Hello! I think this book is very fun. This book is about kid and kid's grandmother. Kid's name is Capricon Anderson. His grandmother's name is Rain. And she fall down from plum tree. So Cap drove to hospital. But police offcier arrest him and he didn't know what is arrest mean. And didn't know what is 911! This was very funny part. Cap had to go to a person's home to sleep for 3 months until his grandmother's hip recovered. He went to a new school and made new friends. Everyone in the grade 8 voted for him as president. And when Rain recovered, they went back and close their school.
I think I should give this book a 3 and a half star.

Schooled was captivating and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a riveting read.I thought this because every time I read a chapter it would make me want to read more and more. I also liked it because some parts surprised me and were completely unexpected. I liked how they gave you everyones point of view and their opinions because it let you put yourself in their shoes. Another reason I liked it was that it had a message. I think the message of the story was not to judge a book by it's cover. Alex1

This book is awesome. I can't stop complimenting this book. I am going to give this book a 5/5 because it's so GREAT!!!!!!.
This book was overwhelming! It was funny and cute. This book is about this hippie dude who has no clue how to deal with the real world because he lived in this small hippie town called Garland. He was very peculiar to everyone when he moved to a school called Claverage. In the beginning he was picked on by this group of people then he gotten really popular, because of his cool hippie techniques! I give this book a 4/5 because it needed more. I recommend this book to anyone who likes funny books or weird ones! Dina18~~~~
